Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of unsalted butter with 1 cup of granulated sugar for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add 1 large egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of optional almond extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Gradually add 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour and ¼ teaspoon of salt, beating until a soft dough forms.
  4. Fill your cookie press with the prepared dough and press onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Add sprinkles or colored sugar on top of each unbaked cookie for decoration.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 6-8 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Allow cookies to rest on baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
