- Boil a large pot of salted water. Add spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper, then cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes on each side. Remove and let rest before cutting.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add lemon juice and zest to the skillet, simmer for 1-2 minutes, then season with salt and pepper. Add chicken back into the skillet to coat.
- Add drained spaghetti to the skillet, toss everything until pasta is coated in sauce. Add reserved pasta water if needed.
