Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
- In a bowl, toss the apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- Melt the salted butter, then mix in flour, oats, light brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the prepared pan, layer the apple filling on top, and crumble the remaining topping over the apples.
- Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender. Cool for 1-2 hours before slicing.
- For caramel, cook sugar in a saucepan until deep amber, then stir in butter and cream until smooth. Let cool.
- Slice the bars and drizzle with salted caramel. Serve warm or at room temperature.
