Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and let simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  2. While the tare sauce simmers, cut the chicken thighs into even bite-sized pieces and thread onto soaked bamboo skewers.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat, around 400°F (200°C), ensuring proper heat for grilling.
  4. Place the skewers on the grill, cooking for about 4-5 minutes and basting with tare sauce frequently.
  5. Remove from the grill, let rest for a minute, and serve garnished with remaining tare sauce.
