  • 4 cups Water Essential for brewing
  • 4 bags Black tea Or 4 tsp of loose leaf
  • 1 large Orange Fresh or blood oranges
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon Can substitute with ground cinnamon
  • 2 pieces Star anise Optional
For Sweetening
  • Honey or sugar To taste; agave syrup or stevia can be used
For Serving
  • Ice cubes Chills the tea
  • Orange slices For garnish

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a medium saucepan over high heat.
  2. Zest and juice the large orange.
  3. Remove the boiling water from heat and add the tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and orange zest.
  4. After steeping for 5 to 8 minutes, juice the orange and mix it with the tea.
  5. Strain tea into a pitcher and sweeten with honey or sugar.
  6. Cool to room temperature before refrigerating for 1 to 2 hours.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh orange slices.
