Pat the flank steak dry with paper towels and rub both sides with olive oil. Season generously with salt and pepper.
Place the steak on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes.
Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.
Top the sliced steak with the garlic butter mixture and let it melt over the warm meat. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
