  • 2 cups King’s Hawaiian sweet bread torn into small pieces
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter for brushing

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch round pie dish or a similar baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the torn King’s Hawaiian sweet bread pieces and set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla extract, egg, sour cream, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until fully combined and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the torn sweet bread in the baking dish, ensuring the bread is evenly coated.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes. Brush the top lightly with melted butter and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature.
