- In a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup of white or yellow miso paste, 1/4 cup of mirin, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Place the black cod fillets in a shallow dish, cover with marinade, and refrigerate for 24 to 48 hours.
- Preheat grill or broiler to medium-high heat (around 400°F / 200°C) about 30 minutes before cooking.
- After marinating, remove the black cod and shake off excess marinade. Allow it to rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
