Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Optional: prepare your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, Chinese five-spice powder, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
- Place chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it’s fully coated. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature.
- Arrange the marinated chicken thighs on the lined baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Pour reserved marinade into a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then let it simmer for 10 minutes to thicken.
- Brush the thickened marinade generously over the cooked chicken.
- Set the oven to broil and return the glazed chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes for caramelization.
- Remove from the oven, let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes
For maximum flavor, marinate overnight. Use thighs for moisture and check doneness with a thermometer.
